Climate Change Responsible For Reducing Fossil Fuels Efficiency In Electricity Production
The climate change issue is necessary since the global clean energy transition has emerged. Green energy transformation requires specific environmental changes strictly followed by the industrial sectors. However, global warming can reduce the efficiency of coal and nuclear plants in generating electricity, as per new studies in 2024.
Globally, countries are taking necessary steps towards the clean energy transition due to climate change problems. However, it is a lesser-known fact that global warming can affect the electricity production from coal and nuclear plants. Fossil fuels are being affected by rising temperatures and climate change problems. It has been reported that clean energy transitions can alter the face of the energy sector if it is attained and implemented by 70 percent. This transition has always been treated as an alternative solution to fossil fuels for climate change problems. However, the growing climate change conditions are a hurdle for fossil fuels to produce electricity. Therefore, it is necessary to act against climate change by opting for renewables and producing less environmental emissions.
According to the surveys, the energy stored in coal, gas, and other fuels takes up only 30-50 percent of it in thermal power plants. The residual goes out as the heat is produced in the reactions. These fuel plants need water to lower the temperature and cool it down for waste removal. However, rising temperatures due to climate change stand as a challenge to it. This is the main reason even fossil fuels fall victim to climate change, as reported in 2024.
