  • Global Surge in Demand for Renewables for Clean Energy Transition

There are numerous ongoing programs targeting to switch over to more environment friendly sources of energy including hydroelectricity and solar and wind power by 2024. It is expected that by the beginning of 2025, over one third of the world’s electricity will be derived from this source. This tendency will continue due to falling pricing and technological advancements. It is projected that solar energy will be at par with fossil fuels by 2024 as indicated by research findings. However, it was not so for solar energy in 2024there are no serious constraints for solar energy in 2024 but wind power had a hard time in 2023.

The efficiency of the wind energy sector has been hindered by factors such as inputs, labor, capital cost pressures, interconnection, and permitting delays. Nevertheless, there are predictions that these obstacles will be resolved, resulting in increased momentum for wind power.

Additionally, landmark clean energy and climate legislation have been enacted that helps to boost renewable sectors. Globally, nations put certain limits on carbon emissions and plans to switch to cleaner forms of energy production. Hence, there are many investment opportunities and creative products that can be developed in the renewable energy industry. The sharp increase in demand for green energies is expected to have positive environmental effects. It is projected that global carbon dioxide emissions from electricity generation would fall by more than -2% by 2024. It may be followed by modest declines of carbon dioxide in 2025 and 2026 annually. Hence, low carbon emissions indicate the powerful beginning of climate change. Further, reduction in carbon emissions represents an exponential progress towards the climate change in 2024.

The changing climate related issues impacts the power generation leading to electricity security issues. For this reason, there will be an increase of investment on electricity security by constructing energy grids, creating storage of energy as well as retrofitting older grids in 2024. Considering the rising electricity demand, reduced costs and favorable government policies, use of clean power sources is likely to rise during 2024. Due to global shift towards cleaner power sources, solar and wind are likely to register high growth rates. Hence, in 2024 several initiatives may be taken within the environmental area aimed at climate change.
