  • Quadric and Denso Team Up to Progress Automotive AI Semiconductors for 2025

The automotive industry will benefit significantly from strategic partnerships in artificial intelligence (AI) and its use in cars. AI integration into automobiles is projected to improve considerably in the year 2025 due to the formation of various partnerships within the industry. The quadric incorporation and DENSO Corporation collaboration are certainly of note. DENSO Corporation, a leading automotive components manufacturer, revealed on October 29th that they will partner with Quadric Incorporation, an edge computing transformer. The two are set to co-industrialize a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) system and its components to perform integrated semiconductor functions within automobiles. This is expected to improve AI performance in automobiles.

This collaboration aims to have DENSO's RISC V processor technology integrated with Quadric's Chimera multitask general-purpose NPU. This change will likely create a capable and powerful chip as it enhances the automotive systems. The NPU is expected to increase the effectiveness of automobiles in carrying out multitasking AI functions. The AI-aided features that need higher computational intelligence are set to rise as self-driving cars and other complicated driver assistance systems become a reality in 2025.

Quadric's collaboration with DENSO marks a pivotal shift in DENSO's direction towards developing automotive semiconductor technology. With Quadric's focus on high-performing edge processing, DENSO can create semiconductor solutions that meet the rising computational needs of modern automobiles. This aligns with the ever-increasing industry shift towards automating vehicles with AI for improved safety, efficiency, and user experience.

AI integration into automotive systems requires specialized parallel hardware for real-time data processing. The co-developed NPU is expected to fill that gap by offering a dedicated processing unit explicitly designed for AI tasks. This is possibly the most crucial development in the NPU line of products, especially with the rising buzz around mid-2025 for AI use cases such as real-time object recognition, preventative maintenance, and custom in-car services.

Additionally, this partnership is essential to improving competition in automotive semiconductor solutions. DENSO and Quadric are expanding their proprietary NPU technology to automakers seeking integration of AI-powered features. With the rise of connected and autonomous vehicles, the demand for reliable and efficient complex data processing is greater than ever.
